Design and build: Sonos Arc vs. Bose 900
Both premium soundbars have an elongated design and are available in black or white. The Sonos Arc has a soft profile with a matte finish and seamless facade. Its dimensions and weight turn out slightly larger. One should make sure that the TV offers enough space for storage downwards so that the soundbar does not protrude into the picture. The Bose 900 Bluetooth speaker has a top made of heat-treated glass with a surrounding metal cover grille. The whole thing looks classy, but it′s also susceptible to fingerprints.
You can choose to mount the premium soundbars on the wall or place them under the TV.

Control: Bose 900 vs. Sonos Arc
You can control both home speakers via app or voice input: the Bose 900 via Bose Music app and Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant, the Sonos Arc via Sonos app and Amazon Alexa. Both premium soundbars support for streaming Apple AirPlay 2
(Sonos: iOS 11.4 and higher). Bose also supports Spotify Connect and Chromecast.
The Bose Bluetooth speaker also comes with a small remote control for controlling it. Alternatively, you can integrate the device via a universal remote control.
With Sonos, a Infrared receiver
(IR) button allows you to sync with your TV remote, although only rudimentary functions, such as loud and quiet, can be controlled. The rest is done via the Sonos app and alternatively via the touch control on the device. All in all, the Sonos control is much more trimmed to the app. Once you get used to it, it offers a good "user experience" and many setting options as well as the connection to numerous music streaming providers.
Sound quality: Bose 900 vs. Sonos Arc
The Bose Smart Soundbar 900 has nine speakers
. By means of ADAPTiQ audio room calibration
(an extra calibration device is included for this), the sound reproduction adapts to the room. The 5.1.2-channel speaker supports the surround formats Dolby Digital, Dolby TrueHD and Dolby Atmos. This provides an additional level of sound height.
The Sonos Arc has eleven digital amplifiers
Class D, eight elliptical woofers and three angled dome tweeters for rich bass and clear highs. The home speaker provides 3D sound with. Dolby Atmos
. Trueplay software can adjust the speaker to the acoustics of the room (iOS device required). The status LED shows the speaker and microphone status and automatically adjusts the brightness to the ambient light. So, to emphasize it: Android users need an iOS device at least for the setup. A highlight of the Sonos Arc is also the "Night Mode", through which loud sounds are muffled and the sound becomes softer, which improves the audio experience. Especially with sleeping children or noise-sensitive neighbors, this feature is beneficial.
The eleven drivers of the Sonos bring advantages in the area of lows and make the Arc sound a bit fuller. In terms of trebles, both speakers do not have much in common: Both are sonically precise, vocals are clear and dialogs are very clean. If you add a subwoofer to the soundbars, both are equally good. If you use the soundbar "solo", the Sonos Arc is slightly better in terms of sound. [topdeals]
